INSEPARABLE FROM GOD’S LOVE
March 11, 2022

Prayer: Lord, is there someone who needs to hear about Your great love today? Thank You for reminding me of how much You love me. Amen

Scripture: Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold, or in danger, or threatened with death? Even the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 8.35-39 NLT

I rarely use such a lengthy scripture passage for our devotionals, but this passage defies separation. There is a non-stop abiding theme about the unending bond between our Loving God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and us who love Him and who are “Called according to His purpose” (Rom 8:28). This theme assures you that nothing will break this bond.  Look at the list in the verses. Yes there may be trouble, but that trouble has no power over us or the bond we enjoy with God. There may be persecution, but that persecution changes nothing about the supreme love that God has for us and that He puts within each one of us with which we can love Him back. Not death, not even supernatural beings have power over our Love for God. And fear — fears are nothing before the Love of God in us. Nowhere are we ever in danger of being separated from Him. Now THAT ought to truly inspire you this day!
