FREE TO BE FREE FROM GUILT
February 01, 2022
Prayer: May we always remember to use our freedom to serve You and others. We pray today for the salvation of our co-workers and all our students. Thank You for hearing us, O Lord, and for wanting all to be saved. Amen
Scripture: For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, he was sent to the earth for all to see. And he did this for you. Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And because God raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory, your faith and hope can be placed confidently in God. Now you can have sincere love for each other as brothers and sisters because you were cleansed from your sins when you accepted the truth of the Good News. So see to it that you really do love each other intensely with all your hearts. 1 Peter 1:18-22 NLT
Sometimes, guilt collects on us like moths around a porch light at night. But we, who have yielded to the salvation offered by God through faith in Jesus Christ, need not accept such guilt.
Forgiveness is what God wants to shower upon us, rather than guilt. The penalty has been paid for us and we are now as though we were sinless from the beginning.
This makes us free to live for God; free from condemnation; free from an obligation to continue sin practices; free from the tyranny of ourselves over our nature. We are free to be humble; free to be kind; free to be unconditionally loving; free to be forgiving. God’s grace has brought us across that infinitely wide gap between our sinfulness and His holiness.
Be at peace today as you rejoice in where you are with God through your faith in Christ. And, if you find that you are NOT with God, there is nothing preventing you from crossing that bridge to Him right now.
Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT

I needed to hear this so much today. I tend to put a lot on my own shoulders and lately, I’ve been carrying around a lot.
