FAITH LIVING IN CORPORATE RELATIONSHIPS

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for designing us to be in community. Help us to seek godly community out so that we may be strengthened in our walk and strengthen others too. Amen

A classic song in the US has the phrase “no man is an island, no man stands alone. . .” God’s word reminds us that in the body of Christ — the church scattered and in local congregations — this is more true than ever. I keep running into people who want to insist to me they are “Christians” but that they do it all by themselves at home alone or with their TV. We were not meant to walk the Christian walk alone. Jesus commanded us to do many things including to love each other as He loved us. It is pretty hard to love someone when you are sitting alone watching church on TV.
The Christian life is a life of relationships made holy by God’s Spirit within each believer. Embrace the unity of faith in Christ as you embrace other believers. If you do not have a strong local congregation in which to grow and through which to minister to others, ask the Lord to direct you and get busy finding it!
