EXCUSES AND SELF BLAME OR…
March 23, 2021

Prayer: Dearest Lord, I will go where You call me and I will trust You to enable me to do a good job. Thank You. Amen.

Scripture: But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though You have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Then the LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.” But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.” Exodus 4:10-13 NLT

Moses was revered as a great leader but all along the way he protested the call God placed upon him. He found excuse after excuse to support his NOT doing what God called for him to do.

And God patiently listened, then reminded him, time after time, that whatever God asks a person to do, God will provide the abilities, the resources, and the wherewithal to get it all done. That is because God knows our prideful hearts and yet our incompleteness. He knows we might seek to do a great, godly work but for our own glory and thus destroy all the good otherwise done.

So, whether we are asked to accomplish great things, like Moses and the birthing of a new nation, or small things, the best way we must approach them is in total reliance upon God for the outcome and the credit.
