GIFTED
November 15, 2019

Prayer: Please pray that Christian educators will have a biblical self-esteem, rooted in the realization that they are God’s workmanship; and that it will overflow into the lives of the children in their classrooms.

Scripture: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph. 2:8-10 NIV

I looked around at the faculty in my school. What talents and diverse skills they have. What a pleasure to be among so many creative teachers. As I considered the talents I saw, I realized that God had gifted me too, not just with abilities for teaching, but with the background and experience which He intended to use for His glory. As I pondered the gifts of love He had given me, I considered my Christian upbringing, my Christian college education, and now, this talented team of people from whom I could learn.

How has God gifted you? He has made you unique, and because you are a Christian, God has a special assignment for you to accomplish for Him. He gives His grace not that we will take it for our own purposes, but for His. He has multiplied grace upon grace to us that we might have everything we need to serve Him. He made us for reasons we may not see, but also that He might get the glory in our lives.
Take a thankful inventory of the ways in which you have been uniquely gifted of God, and recommit yourself to Christ’s service today. Take special note of the ways in which He has specially prepared you for the job He has given you, and trust Him to use you for His purposes.
