HOLY BOLD
August 22, 2019

Prayer: Father, I pray for holy boldness as I seek to reveal who you are to my campus. Show me what holy boldness looks like and give me courage to step out in it.

Scripture: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 NIV

Be holy bold! I had a great mentor for years who told me each and every time to be “Holy Bold.” He never once explained what it meant, but I knew that I had the encouragement to be a Christian educator in the public schools. I prayed with boldness, I invited others to join in prayer and I learned what I can and cannot do in the public schools while being bold, yet gracious. What about you? Are you “Holy Bold?”

Quote for the Day: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

I just want to thank you for your devotions. God called me to be a teacher and for years I tried to run from that calling. But I finally surrendered and obeyed God’s calling. Several years ago I asked Him why He wouldn’t let me NOT teach and He said this: “I want you to teach children how to read so that when they are old enough, they can read the Bible for themselves, and they will know Me.” Today’s devotion really encouraged me as I walk and live in Holy Boldness among my students and coworkers.
