PRAY RIGHT AWAY
June 11, 2019

Prayer:  Please show us, Lord, when to have courage to pray on the spot.  We want to honor You in all our conversations.

Scripture:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  Isaiah 55:11 KJV

“When people ask me to pray for something, I don’t like to rely on my memory. I choose to pray right then, on the spot. It can take some people, who didn’t really mean what they asked me, off guard.
“I’ll pray right now,” I say, more often than not, taking their hand and praying aloud, no matter where we are.  “Here?”  She may ask. However, I can count on two fingers the number of times people have said, ‘No, just pray later.’

Please don’t ask me to pray, as a social phrase, as if ‘Do you think it’s going to rain?” I take prayer very seriously!

I’ve learned that prayers don’t have an expiration date. Long after I had even forgotten I’ve prayed, someone will tell me, “Oh! God answered your prayer for me!”  Then comes the explanation and I’m trying to remember praying. Many times I can’t. But God remembers.
