THE HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER FOR YOU AND FOR ME – 05/28/19

Prayer:  May I always come to You in my distress.  Thank You for lifting my heart today by Your word.

Scripture: And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning’s that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26 NLT

God’s word is so very precious to me, and it never ceases to amaze me how our loving Lord’s Holy Spirit, within us, takes familiar passages and reapplies them to us with fresh anointing every time.

While facing a strong need for sensing the Father’s arm around me today, I came upon Romans 8:26 and the words leapt from the page to my heart. When I’m in distress– the Holy Spirit helps me. I’m not alone! I’m not abandoned! I’m not powerless but have access to the same power that created everything.

Just now, even in an intense sadness, the Word of God is telling me that HE is praying on my behalf! He is uttering the right words to God on the Throne for me since in my confusion and depression I can’t be certain that my words are the right words. And the communication that our Holy Spirit has with God comes through something that is far beyond and above mere words. He expresses it in the emotional ‘groanings’ that my heart is feeling.

He is in my crisis, feeling my suffering, and communicating correctly what needs to be communicated so that I can be blessed and somehow glorify the Lord in and through the crisis.  What a wonderfully awesome God is our Lord. There could never be another like Him. I am so happy to live for Him, through Him, and He in me.

I pray your day will be one that discovers afresh the great resource of uplift that the Lord can be to you when you need it most.
