Prayer: Today, we praise You that we are made for You.  Please use our words and actions today to meet our students’ needs.  Thank You.  Amen.

Scripture: For by Him all things were created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be throne, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:  all things were created by him, and for him.  Colossians 1:16 KJV

There are two things I would like to point out in this week’s Scripture. First, all things were created by Him. The same Creator that created the angels, fashioned every seashell, designed the oceans and mountains, also created you. Scripture tells us that He created man in His own image, that He set us to rule over the animals of the sea, earth and air, and then He sent His only Son as a pure and blameless sacrifice for us that we might be forgiven and saved. Christ came for us, not the fallen angels, but for you and me. You are a wonderfully made creation of the Almighty God.

Secondly, all things were created for Him. We were created to have a relationship with Him, so we may go into all the world and share the gospel and to glorify Him in all we do and say. The specific how, when and where, is our purpose. It is essential to remember these two things when we look in the mirror and begin to doubt our worth. It also is important to remember these when we look at our students and coworkers.

Do you wonder what great purpose God has planned for your students today and in the future? Remember that we have purpose every minute of every day and not just when we are adults. Do you drive to school pondering God’s purpose for your day? Do you view every challenge, every student, every minute as an opportunity to fulfill His purpose? Will you from this moment forward?
