HAPPY

Prayer: May Christian educators be known for a genuine gladness of heart despite the circumstances around them.
Scripture: “A happy heart makes the face cheerful.” Proverbs 15:13a NIV
Have you ever heard the saying “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”? It’s not exactly proper English, but the thought is very true.
The same is true for your educational environment. You set the tone every day for the students and anyone else who comes through your door.
If you had an argument with someone before you left home, if you are tired, frustrated, or unhappy, your students (parents, peers, family etc.) pick up on that tension, no matter how young they are, and it is reflected the rest of the day.
On the other hand, if you come in happy and excited, your class will reflect those positive feelings also. It is human nature to want to be around happy, positive people and to avoid negative people. You may even find that your students work harder for you in an effort to receive your positive attention directed right at them. Remember, you reap what you sow.
