AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST
January 17, 2019

PRAYER:  Help us Lord as we serve as Your ambassador.

Scripture: Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [a]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.  2Cor 5:18-20 NKJV

Oh Happy Day to you, Mr. or Miss or Mrs. Ambassador!  No matter what you are facing this day– no matter what has happened, this is another Happy Day for you and for me.  We are able to celebrate so many things. Our being redeemed for one of the most significant to be sure!  And, there is more!  We are called into a very special privilege.  You and I are named by God as Christ’s Ambassadors.  The other day I drove past the home of the Ambassador from the U.S. to Chile.  It was a most ostentatious place, with sharp military guards and formal looking folks wandering about. The walls were high and it was not very accessible.  A very important person resides there because he is the one who speaks official policy to this nation and its leaders where I am visiting.  But you and I do not need to be in such a residence that keeps people away until we wish to speak in our own ambassadorial way.  All walls are down and we are open to approach by all whom God calls to us.  And we are privileged to speak out the official proclamations of the Kingdom of God at any and all times of the day without impedance. Not merely ambassadors of a mere nation, we are the direct representatives of the one who created the universe from the smallest microbe to the largest galaxy, with all its diversity and wonder.  We are representatives of the intelligence of the universe!  Oh have a happy day privileged one.
