RESCUED AND SPARKLING!

Prayer: Lord help us not to neglect starting each day with you so that we may shine with your love to all we come in contact with throughout this day.
Scripture: The LORD their God will rescue His people, just as a shepherd rescues his sheep. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown. Zechariah 9:16 NLT
Some days I succumb to feeling kind of dull. Does that ever happen to you? Some days I forget to engage the beginning of my day with the Lord in conversation. The rest of that particular day seems quite a slog, if you know what I mean. Everything is kind of like walking through deep mud with a 50 pound pack on my back (only former soldiers would understand that illustration from practical experience). Slog, slog, slog, I go over bumps and around juts and jags in the terrain. And threats loom at every one of those trouble spots. But God’s word assures me that our Lord “will rescue his people. . .” And the best rescue happens when we remember to begin our day in conversation and submission to him. Somehow on those days the juts are not so big and the jags not so sharp. The slogging is more like a casual stroll in the grass. And the joy– OH THE JOY!
Why not stop right now and reboot this day– restart it with prayer rejoicing in our God’s rescuing presence! And then you can really sparkle for Him.
