SHHH!

Prayer: Lord help us to be faithful to you in all situations.
Scripture: “This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” I Cor. 4:1-2 NIV
Oh, how children love secrets! I found that if I wanted to get the whole class’ attention, I could present a learning puzzle of some kind, and have the children, one at a time, come and whisper their answers in my ear. And some of them weren’t so trustworthy with the information they shared with me. They knew they must keep their secret until I revealed the answer, but just waiting until everyone had a turn was a real difficulty to many of the children.
God has revealed to us spiritual secrets with which He expects us to be trustworthy. He depends on us to be faithful to Him, to His truth, and to His purposes. Especially in a world of people who aren’t related to our God, we need to faithfully live out our faith in the way that Jesus has revealed to us. In order to know His directives to us, we must be faithful in studying His word, praying for understanding daily, that we not disappoint Him.
Christian teachers have a most awesome obligation, not only to do our jobs well to God’s glory, but to represent our Savior in the way He guides us in His word. If He is the Master and we are His servants, we must do His bidding faithfully. God alone knows our hearts. He examines our secret thoughts and motives, and knows whether He can trust us. Let the Always Faithful One, find us faithful to Him.
