LONGING, SEARCHING
October 18, 2018

Prayer: May we see clearly our need of You today, Lord, and choose to seek You.  Thank You.  Amen.

Scripture: You are my God; I earnestly search for You. My soul thirsts for You; my whole body longs for You in this parched and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1NLT

How did you think about the Lord this morning? Did you? With all that He has done to cleanse us from our sinfulness and to free us from our bondage to sinning, why do we not keep Him to be highest priority in our lives each day?

I confess, I sometimes allow myself to be distracted by inconsequential things and miss out on the joy that otherwise comes when I embrace absolute and total commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Have you ever been terribly thirsty? Would that feeling also describe how you are toward your conscious awareness about God’s presence? Have you ever experienced that dry parchedness described in this passage only to quench it with cool pure water? It is an indescribable feeling, yes? So, too, is it for us when we seek to drink in the Spirit of God to wash away our dryness and perk us up for the day.
Drink deeply of Him. I pray that you will find yourself ‘earnestly searching for’ God today, searching in the thoughts you think, in the words you speak, and in the tasks you prioritize.

Thank you Mr. Elliott, for the past few days have been exceedingly dry and thirsty, the ‘showers of blessing’ that rained upon is yesterday are extended today by your devotional. I’m Forwarding to our daughter, headmistress if a school for home schoolers where she hires teachers and other staff; this will sharpen their focus, as the LORD intended
