DISCOURAGEMENT, PRAYER, JOY

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for this word of encouragement for my heart today.
Scripture: Why am I discouraged? Why so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again Psalm 42:11 NLT
Emotions are part of us and sometimes they are pretty difficult rascals to wrestle with.
It may be due to lack of sleep, fretting, diet or other health issues, but some days we may just feel terrible. And on those days, when I give in to the ‘poor me’ thinking, then things get worse. People, who upset me, upset me more. Problems that irritate me drive me waco! Things that I would rather not have happen in my future loom as large threatening thunder clouds extending jagged lightning bolts my way. Things that I would like to have happen seem to shrink from existence and life seems as if it will be the worst burden until the day I die. Of course, all that is the enemy capitalizing on my physical and mental state.
Remember, in the book of Kings, when the prophet Elijah got discouraged, he ran away and fell asleep under a tree. What did God do? He gave Elijah food, rest, and comfort. Your heavenly Father will meet your needs in the same way. Just reach up to Him and tell him what you are feeling. Then turn the circumstances into a time of praying and even interceding for others.
