Facets of Faith: Louisiana officials offer booklet on religion in public schools

Answers to Common Questions about Religious Freedom in Schools

This excellent resource published by the Louisiana Attorney General is not just for Louisiana: these principles are based on the Constitution and so are true in every state. It addresses the rights of students, educators, and religious groups on public school campuses.

Go deeper and you’ll find answers to questions like, “Can students pray in school?”, and “Can students hand out religious materials or wear religious clothing?” It also touches on topics like the use of the Bible in the classroom and whether school staff be involved with religious clubs or organizations.

Give it a read, it’s setup in question-and-answer format and it’s easy to navigate.

Excellent, David. Doreen is sending out something from me to all of our Tennessee student members, and i hope she can attach a link to that also. I have been calling them individually ( I have a lot of student members) asking how their year is going and setting up times to take lunch to their mentor/teacher to thank teacher for helping student. It is great because I find out their plans for next year for a permanent position. SO MANY of these students are from out of state and will be returning to their state to teach. So we lose them, hopefully, they will join in their state. You video will be a great resource for them. Keep the info coming. I hope they are being watched. Also I am sending out a Pass it Forward to all members asking them to share CEAi with one teacher. We are including a form for them to respond yes and No if they are willing . I they say yes, we will send them a packet of information to give to one teachers ( or more if they want.) We wills end packets only to those responding Yes.
