WHERE THE HOLY SPIRIT RESIDES

Prayer: Father give me opportunities to serve the students and staff at my school. Help me to recognize these God given opportunities and to be diligent to carry out Your Will.

Scripture: Invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the godly, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.  Luke 14:13-14 NLT

Our Lord, Jesus, who is God incarnate, spoke about the Love that IS God. Love is His name. Love is His nature. Love is what He did and does in overlooking our sin, in forgiving the consequences, and in granting us eternity with Him. Jesus promised that God’s Spirit would return and reside within His people. The presence of that Holy Spirit can often be marked by unconditional regard and service for others, even for enemies. When you and I hear God ask us to serve, He is calling us to allow Him to express His nature through our actions. Thus when good is done–even remarkable and supernatural good– we shouldn’t expect anything in return. In fact, it’s better to serve the truly needy–those who cannot return the favor. The more serving done, the more of God flowing through you and me.

I pray your day is one filled with God’s love going out to others in new and unique ways that blesses them, just because God loves you and lives in you.

“Lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other’s faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united with the Holy Spirit and bind yourselves together with peace.” Ephesians 4:1-3 NLT
